just a few things that made it home from the market…
Kale | Spinach | Mint | Red Cabbage | Tomatoes | Cucumbers | Black Beans | Rosemary | Apples
I see beauty.

When I lived at Green Gulch, in Summer 2000, I became obsessed with hot tea. (I was never warm enough. I don’t live in the Bay Area, in part, because they don’t have real summers.) Some days, I would drink up to five cups of Earl Grey with soymilk and raw sugar or honey. There was usually some mint in a cup on the counter near the samovar, so I would pour hot water on leaves and drink deeply to come down. I even found myself trucking down to the garden to pick mint leaves in quiet daylight; I was comforted by their mouth feel and the explosion of mint on the back of my tongue when I chewed them.

A story of beauty. ♥
